Under Armour hires CEO of NBA's Dallas Mavericks

Although he may be little known in Europe, Terdema L. Ussery II is no strangers to sports fans in the United States. The man who will take on the role of CEO of the global sports categories at Under Armour has been the CEO of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks team for the past 18 years.

The team is the ninth highest in terms of earnings generated, with 168 million in revenue, according to Forbes. Under the guidance of Terdema L. Ussery II, it tripled its revenue, in particular by raising its profile through partnership agreements with the media. Moreover, he managed the Texas media group AXS TV from 2001 to 2012.

But above all, the executive knows the sports world inside and out. Before joining Dallas, he worked at Nike, notably in charge of relations with the athletes. He is also an advisor for several boards of directors. He has used his experience at Timberland, and also at Fantex, a registered trading platform in the sports sector.

At Under Armour, Terdema L. Ussery II "will be in charge of leading category development through all of the operational units around the world in order to control the authenticity and the relationship with the consumers,' said the brand in its press release.

In 2014, Under Armour saw its sales surpass the 3 billion dollar mark. In 2015, it expects a 22% growth.
