Canadian luxury retailer Holt Renfrew is paying homage to designer Rei Kawakubo, as the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute gears up to open its spring 2017 exhibition dedicated to the founder of Comme des Garçons.

Holt Renfrew unveiled on Monday a window scheme dedicated to the designer and her brand at its Bloor Street flagship store in Toronto. The window display features six showpieces from the Comme des Garçons Spring/Summer 2017 collection, along with oversized images from the brand’s runway ensembles, also found in the Met Museum’s accompanying exhibition catalogue.

Following the installation at 50 Bloor Street, the window program will move to Holt Renfrew’s Vancouver location. The window scheme will be unveiled in Vancouver on May 29.

The Met Museum’s spring 2017 exhibition Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In- Between was unveiled at the Met Gala Monday night. It will open to the public from May 4 to September 4 in New York City.
