Burton Snowboards featured at Colette
Burton Snowboards collaborates with Colette. The American brand and the Parisian concept store have put their names to a snowboard model produced in a run of twenty, in Colette's signature blue colour.
On sale for €800, the snowboard is showcased inside the store and in a fine window display on rue Saint-Honoré.
"We do seek collaborations outside our domain," Greg Dacyshyn, the Creative Director for Burton Snowboards, explained. "What I'm looking for are collaborations with people who can make contributions from their own realm. I adore what Sarah Andelman, the founder, is doing with Colette, and this was a nice opportunity."
For a major player in the snowboard segment, this is also the chance to make its presence felt away from the mountains and slopes. The brand is involved in some twenty collaborations globally. They are all very different and signal a desire to stimulate different types of consumers.
Burton has thus worked with labels such as Neighbourhood, Married to the Mob and Undefeated for the trendy side, with New Balance and Alpha Industries for fashion, and Marvel Frozen, Peanuts and Playboy for mainstream licences.
