Map the tweets about 150 brands over the last 24 hours? That is the service offered by website MostTweetedBrands.com. The site is run by the marketing agency JWT.

As fun as it is useful, the site lists quotations by geographic location and by brand. In terms of clothing, Nike seems to be the leader with 50,300 tweets in 152 countries across the world. Second is Zara with 11,300 tweets in 99 countries, followed by Havaïanas with 1,900 tweets in 27 countries. In terms of luxury brands, Louis Vuitton has 4,300 tweets in 87 countries ahead of Hermès with 562 tweets in 34 countries.

In beauty, Colgate-Palmolive has 2,900 tweets, ahead of Gillette with 2,200, L’Oréal with 1,500 and Natura with 146. E-commerce sites are equally well-represented on the site, with 105,000 tweets for Amazon, 37,100 for eBay and Walmart, Ikea and Carrefour with 37400, 12,900 and 3,900 respectively.

The biggest winner seems to be social networking site Facebook, with 740,000 mentions. These figures are to be taken with a pinch of salt though. The ranking doesn’t take into consideration the tone of the tweet, counting it whether it be positive or negative.
