Yoox: A record Black Friday with one purchase every 3.5 seconds

Yoox can claim to have “brought Black Friday to the whole world”, as it said in a statement. On Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28—Thanksgiving and Black Friday in the US—the Italian online fashion store broke all its records. This was particularly true on Friday, when it exceeded its absolute best sales day with an order every 3.5 seconds!

Yoox.com’s new application for smartphone did extremely well on Black Friday


On Friday, nearly 1.5 million people visited the company’s 40 e-boutiques. On this very competitive global shopping day, as expected, New York and the US ranked first. Respectively in the top ten: Moscow, Tokyo, London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Beijing, Milan, Rome and Paris, according to the site.

46% of visits to yoox.com on Friday were made via a mobile device. This phenomenon resulted in 107% sales growth through smartphones as compared to last year. 

This comes as a very promising sign for yoox.com, which has just launched its new application. The multibrand site saw traffic to its smartphone application, completely revamped and expanded, triple from last year with a 4 times higher purchasing conversion rate.
