A panel of industry experts has been brought together to select a winner, who will receive a mentorship from YNAP executives, an exclusive one-to-one styling appointment with a personal shopper and up to £1,000 to spend on Net-A-Porter. Two runners-up will receive Net-A-Porter goodie bags worth £500.

To enter the Incredible Girls of the Future contest, running until 1 July 2019, candidates must submit their ideas for an innovative fashion app that can challenge conventions, drive sustainable change, and impact the industry and the world for the better.

A committee chaired by YNAP chairman and CEO Federico Marchetti will be looking for originality, entrepreneurship, thorough planning and problem solving skills.

Also forming part of the panel are Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter president Alison Loehnis; Porter acting editor-in-chief Sarah Bailey; Brent Hoberman, co-founder and executive chairman at Founders Factory; Bozoma Saint John, chief marketing officer at Endeavor; Margherita Maccapani Missoni, creative director of M Missoni; Leandra Medine, founder of Man Repeller; and Brita Fernandez Schmidt, executive director of Women for Women International UK.

“There aren’t enough women in tech. We strongly believe that fashion can provide an effective lens to tackle this issue and change young people’s perceptions; helping to introduce more female talent to digital careers and fulfil their creative potential. That’s why Yoox Net-A-Porter Group is inviting the future generation of female entrepreneurs to pitch their best fash-tech innovations. They are the ones who will drive a more inclusive and sustainable luxury industry,” said Federico Marchetti, YNAP chairman and CEO.

YNAP’s Incredible Girls of the Future contest is now open for submissions.
