Wolford and Vetements launch collaboration
Austrian hosiery manufacturer Wolford, which is currently looking for a new CEO, is teaming up with Vetements to launch a capsule collection. Comprising a pair of tights and a maxi knitted dress, the collection aims to redefine some of the wardrobe essentials every woman should have.
The partnership blends Wolford’s “cutting-edge innovation” with “the unparalleled craftsmanship and cult status of Vetements”, said the hosiery brand.
Eagle-eyed fans will know the items made their debut on the runway during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris in June. In true Vetements style, a pair of tights from Wolford’s Nude 8 collection have been redesigned with ‘tattoos’ and gang symbols, giving the model an air of rebelliousness.
Meanwhile, the knitted dress flaunts Wolford’s circular knitting technology. Inspired by design techniques found in Haute Couture, the dress features white lines against a black background.
The Wolford x Vetements collaboration is launching in time for Christmas via Vetements and its list of stockists.
In the financial year ended April, Wolford reported sales of 137.2 million euros, down 8% on the previous year.
