Vans teams up with Nintendo

Vans’ latest collaboration is designed to appeal both adults and children by celebrating the early days of video games. The company has partnered with Japanese firm Nintendo on an extensive collection of footwear, apparel and accessories with 8-bit inspired artwork and characters from some of the most beloved Nintendo video games.

The range includes also a selection of pieces inspired by Nintendo’s first console, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

The Vans x Nintendo Classic footwear assortment kicks off with four variations of the Authentic silhouette. Characters such as Mario, Princess Peach, Duck Hunt and Donkey Kong come to life atop a variety of backdrops, while other pieces feature quotes from The Legend of Zelda and colors inspired by the console.

The playful tone was also printed on the shoes’s iconic waffle soles with the caption ‘Game Over!’

In addition to shoes, the collaboration extends into apparel and accessory items for both men and women. Co-branded tees, backpacks, bags, socks and hats are offered in prints that tie back to the Classic footwear.

The range comes in both adult and children’s sizes and will be available to buy from June 3.
