Vans is relying on teamwork. The US label, renowned for its skateboarder style and its sneakers, has joined forces with Japanese streetwear label Bape and with outerwear brand Napapijri to create two new collections, both set to be dropped in November.

Vans x Bape

Vans is partnering with Japanese streetwear label Bape (A Bathing Ape) for a capsule collection designed to showcase the two brands’ values, hinging on street culture and self-expression.

The Vans x Bape collection will be available from November 30 - Vans x Bape

The two labels have combined their styles to create a clothes and footwear collection in which their classic silhouettes are given a fresh twist. The collection features two pairs of sneakers and a hoodie available in black or grey, combining Bape's signature camo motif with classic Vans design codes like the black and white check pattern and ripstop fabrics. The collection will be available from November 30 at the two labels’ monobrand stores and on their e-shops.

This is the second collaboration between Vans and Bape. Last year, they launched a limited-edition footwear capsule collection sold exclusively in China.

Vans x Napapijri

Vans has also teamed up with Italian sportswear brand Napapijri, well-known for its expertise in outdoor apparel and accessories, to create a unisex shoes and ready-to-wear collection made with sustainable materials, suitable for all weather conditions.

The Vans x Napapijri collection will be available from November 5 - Vans

The collection consists of various outerwear items and accessories, such as hoodies, t-shirts, a jacket made with recycled nylon, a hat and a shoulder bag. The items will all carry the logo of both labels. Both Vans and Napaijri belong to US group VF Corp., which posted a healthy €398.2 million profit in Q2 2021.

Available from November 5 at Vans stores and on the label’s e-shop, the collection combines the urban aesthetic of Vans with Napapijri's feel for the great outdoors, while increasing both brands’ visibility.

Vans is no stranger to collaborations. In October alone, it teamed up with Warner Bros for a collection revisiting the legendary US film producer’s cult horror films, and also with British labels Nigel Cabourn and Aries.

A strategy that enables Vans to cultivate its consumer appeal while reaching out to new targets and markets.
