Located on the former site of Bethlehem Steel at Sparrows Point, the 1.3 million square-foot-center will serve as a distribution and warehouse facility, and will house 2,600 employees in Baltimore.

In a press statement, the company said the ODH is integral to Under Armour’s global supply chain, and a critical step in the company’s efforts to boost operations as it anticipates a successful year.

Earlier this month, Under Armour's shares went up and the company raised its full-year earnings forecast after quarterly results beat estimates. The company said it was propped up by sneaker sales in international markets, the expansion of its international business and an improvement in its North American business.

The new distribution house was celebrated on 'Armour Day', the athleticwear company's day of service and celebration held on May 8.

The day's opening ceremony was attended by a number of Under Armour executives and local persons of interest, including Kevin Plank, Under Armour chairman and CEO; Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Baltimore Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh, among others.
