Grosvenor’s American arm has created a new role of environment, social & governance director to spearhead its goal of achieving net zero operations by 2030.

Lauren Krause has been namedenvironment, social & governance director at Grosvenor Americas - Grosvenor

Lauren Krause has been promoted to the company’s senior leadership team effective July 1.

She was most recently senior development manager at Grosvenor’s San Francisco office. In her new role, Krause will help establish carbon policies for Grosvenor’s portfolio in the US and Canada, advancing the company’s sustainability efforts in the region to support similar strategies across the international portfolio.

Grosvenor has four regional development and investment businesses in Britain and Ireland, the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, and a portfolio of residential, official and retail properties. Its core asset, the Grosvenor Estate in London, comprises large swathes of Mayfair and Belgravia, two of the city’s most expensive districts.

The commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030 applies to all directly-managed buildings globally, and Grosvenor wants to achieve net zero carbon across the indirectly-managed portfolio by 2050

Steve O’Connell, chief executive of Grosvenor Americas, said: “We created this position to further shape Grosvenor Americas’ commitment to creating positive social impact through our work in the cities where we own and develop properties.

“This is a progressive step toward helping to future proof Grosvenor and our partners for environmental resilience and to ensure we are doing what we can for socio-economic change -- we are very pleased Lauren is leading us in this endeavour.”
