Tory Sport announced this week the opening of its first store at 129 Fifth Avenue in New York City’s Flatiron District.

The 3,900-square-foot store houses the brand’s full activewear collection including high-performance clothing, bags, shoes and accessories for running, studio, tennis, swim, golf, as well as Coming & Going.

The window features blue awnings and large screens featuring videos and images of athletes. The interior features natural materials and modern design elements like whitewashed oak pegboards, leather handrails and nickel wall panels. Stripes are prevalent in store and can be seen in the entryway and on the floors, which tie back to the Tory Sport logo.

Lastly, a separate room serves as a seating area with a minimalist fireplace, four Jean Royère chairs with indigo cushions, concrete and nickel table and a hand-painted floor pattern in navy blue and white.

CEO and Designer Tory Burch said: “We are thrilled to open the first Tory Sport store. We thought about the casual vibe of a Seventies surf lodge and reimagined it with Scandinavian design principles. With clean, simple lines and a completely flexible interior, the store balances functionality with style.”

The Flatiron store, which is now part of the landmarked “Ladies’ Mile Historic District”, is a follow up to the brand’s pop up on Elizabeth Street in New York City that opened with the brand’s launch in September 2015. Tory Sport joins a number of sports-driven brands in Flatiron including Nike, Lululemon, Athleta and New Balance.
