Tom Ford taps Gucci Group for head of Asia Pacific

Tom Ford has named Jerome Cheung as chief executive officer for the Asia-Pacific area, a position formerly held by Regina Lam. Cheung is former president at several Gucci Group brand in this important luxury market. “Jerome has an unrivaled expertise and a deep understanding of our Asian clientele,” said the London-based, Texan-born designer. “I am very happy to be welcoming him to Tom Ford International and I look forward to working with together.”

Tom Ford has already worked with Jerome Chung at Gucci, where the latter was CEO of Gucci Group Japan and Gucci group Guam.

The position is based in Hong Kong and Cheung will be reporting to Tom Mendenhall, vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of the company since 2006. Both men started their careers with Gucci whilst Tom Ford was at the height of his success in therevamp of the brand.

The Asia-Pacific market is very important for the brand, who has fourteen stores in the area.
