Altuzarra has opened a new chapter today with the announcement of a new CEO: Shira Sue Carmi, the former president of Mansur Gavriel until September of 2019.

Founded by Joseph Altuzarra in 2008, the luxury ready-to-wear and accessories brand has shown on Paris runways since 2017.

Carmi will be replacing Karis Durmer, who has left after eight years to join Scotch & Soda’s American branch. The position at the Dutch brand had been vacant since Ari Hoffman left a month ago, to head the American division at Ted Baker. Durmer will stay at Altuzarra until March to assure a smooth transition.

Before arriving at Mansur Gavriel, Carmi began her career at Banana Republic’s marketing department, followed by freelance work for Avon. In 2005, she created Launch Collective, a management company for emerging creators and brands.

Altuzarra currently has over 60 distributors worldwide and through its commercial site. In 2013, the Kering luxury group became a minority shareholder.
