Shein, SilkFred and Debenhams most plus-size-inclusive UK retailers - report

Many popular fast-fashion retailers are still getting plus-size clothing so wrong, according to money-saving website WeThrift, which has launched its ‘Inclusive Index’ listing the most plus-size inclusive fashion brands available. So step forward digital platforms Shein, SilkFred and Debenhams as the top three most inclusive retailers in the UK.

Shein (sizes 6-26) outpaces its rivals with 88,850 plus-size options, followed by SilkFred (sizes 4-32) with 15,900 options available, with Debenhams (sizes 4-30) boasting 14,762 plus-size options.

Rounding out the top 10 were PrettyLittleThing (14,118 options), Next (9,317), Lipsy (7,829), Missguided (7,132), John Lewis (6,320), I Saw It First (6,177), and ASOS (5,770).

It said that Shein “has risen to fame in the fast fashion industry and is now giving trend favourites, like Zara and Urban Outfitters a run for their money”, noting its “rapid virtual growth on platforms such as TikTok, with users partaking in addictive clothing hauls and #sheinhaul reaching 3.2 billion views”.

Having analysed over 100 of the most popular, fast-fashion, mid-price and premium stores available in the UK, WeThrift also focused on the retailers that are falling behind”. 

And heading the latter list of the least inclusive UK retailers were Pull & Bear and All Saints with zero plus-size options available. Both retailer’s clothing sizes range from a UK 2, with the largest size being a UK 14. In third place was Vans with only one plus size option stocked on its official website (UK 6-16).
