Selfridges is sparing no expense in building its new accessories hall. The just-opened accessories hall, located in the retailer’s Oxford Street, London location, will be the biggest in the world. Galleries Lafayette in Paris previously held the title of largest in the world.

The 61,000-square-foot space, designed by architect David Chipperfield, will stock 70,000 luxury bags and luggage. The store is double the size of the pre-existing accessories hall and features marble white flooring.

The retailer’s Duke Street façade has been re-done to accommodate the grand new accessories hall, and will now feature a dramatic triple-height entrance. Over $372 million was spent on this renovation, which marks the completion of the first phase of a three phase refurbishment project for the store. The four-year project is set to be completed in 2018.

Balenciaga, Burberry, Chanel, Céline, Chloé, Chrome Hearts, Gucci, Loewe, Mulberry and Saint Laurent will all have flagship boutiques inside the brand-new accessories hall. Each of these flagships has been renovated to match each brand’s aesthetic. Alexander McQueen, Anya Hindmarch, Jimmy Choo and Stella McCartney will also be opening concept shops within the accessories hall.

Right in the middle of the accessories hall will sit a 14-seat cocktail bar called 'The Fount', which will feature red velvet chairs and a cream marble countertop. The bar, curated by 2015 International Bartender of the Year Ryan “Mr. Lyon” Chetiyawardana, will serve up artful cocktails and gourmet herbal teas.

The Selfridges accessories hall can be found at 400 Oxford Street, London.
