Royal Robbins bolsters leadership team with new hires

Outdoor and travel apparel brand Royal Robbins has announced changes to its leadership team with new additions in design, marketing, sourcing and international development.

The heritage US-based company is mid-way through a revamping exercise in an effort to become a relevant player in the outdoor apparel market. Following the return of co-founder Liz Braund  as new VP, Merchandising and Design at the end of last year and the appointment of Michael Millenacker as new CEO, the company his hired a number of key experts to lead the brand into a new phase of growth.

Aaron Carpenter, former VP of Global Marketing at the North Face, has been appointed to the board as Advisor and Consultant, advising digital, marketing, and branding initiatives.

Joanne Steinbauer has been appointed has new Design Director. The former head of design for Athleta has over 20 years of experience working in the outdoor active lifestyle clothing sector. She will help Liz Braund build out innovative new apparel collections.

“I’ve long respected Royal Robbins’ rich heritage and loyal following,” said Steinbauer. “I am excited to work closely with Liz to create beautiful, versatile designs for work, travel and the outdoors.”

Royal Robbins also appointed Nicole Chabot director of international and Molly Chan as new director of production and sourcing in the Hong Kong office.

Further, Royal Robbins promoted Stephen Sherril, former interim head of marketing, to director of marketing.
