Roberto Cavalli's new senior management team is taking shape. At the end of 2020, the Italian luxury label named Ennio Fontana, the former right-hand man of Philipp Plein, as its new general manager, and hired Fausto Puglisi as creative consultant. The label has now announced the appointment of Antonella Leoni as marketing director.

Leoni spent a large part of her career, eight years, at Italian eyewear group Safilo, where she lately was in charge of worldwide communications and public relations. Previously, she worked for a number of PR agencies and for Binda Group, an Italian company specialised in watch manufacturing and distribution.

Leoni started in her new role on February 15, and is reporting directly to Fontana. “[Leoni’s] appointment is part of the label's relaunch strategy. [Roberto Cavalli] is ready to present its ‘collection zero’, designed by new Creative Director Fausto Puglisi, at the forthcoming Milan Fashion Week Women,” Roberto Cavalli has stated in a press release.

Roberto Cavalli was bought in 2019 by Dubai billionaire Hussain Sajwani, founder and president of real estate giant Damac Properties. The label, which had been declining for some years, has since then undergone a thorough restructuring, and is hoping to make a fresh start under the aegis of the new management team.
