Revolve boosts influencer marketing strategy with launch of new brand ambassador program

Los Angeles-based online fashion retailer Revolve has launched its new brand ambassador program, which leverages the company’s proprietary tech to create community-driven marketing opportunities.

Serving as the next step in the platform’s influencer marketing strategy, the new program allows Revolve users to apply to be brand ambassadors, a role in which they will operate as influencers and have the chance to win rewards, including commissions, early access to new brands and the opportunity to participate in events such as Revolve Around the World trips and Revolve Festival. Top selling ambassadors may even be offered the chance to create an X Revolve capsule collection.
 
As part of the program, ambassadors create customized landing pages that act like storefronts, where they can add their favorite products and curate lists around specific themes. The landing pages are linked directly to ambassadors’ social channels so that they can effectively channel their followers towards the site and generate earnings from sales.

“We are incredibly passionate about Revolve’s Brand Ambassador program, and the value it will bring to the customer experience,” said Revolve chief brand officer Raissa Gerona in a release. “It leverages the combined strengths of Revolve: influencer marketing, data, production and brand ideation.”
 
According to Revolve, a first soft-launch of the program onboarded more than 3,000 members and attracted a waiting list of another 10,000 applicants. During this initial period of the program, brand ambassadors have become one of the platform’s top sources of traffic, resulting in the generation of incremental net sales and important data insights.
 
Ambassadors are vetted and selected in line with a number of criteria established by Revolve. In particular, the platform cited platform diversity, high-quality visual content, a history of engagement with followers, and a large audience as top factors that it takes into consideration during the selection process.
