Revlon expands its portfolio of brands

Published

Revlon has just acquired the nail polish brand Pure Ice and the makeup brand Bon Bons (nail polish, lip-gloss, etc.) from the Bari Cosmetics group. Although the amount of the acquisition was not publicly disclosed, a $22 million credit line taken out in 2011 by the American cosmetic company was used to finance this specific transaction.

Revlon is expanding its brand portfolio, including the very promising nail polish segment. After taking over Sinful Colors in March 2011, Revlon is treating itself to Pure Ice, a brand primarily sold online and at Walmart that has captivated a young audience with nail polishes under two dollars.

For fiscal year 2011, Revlon reported a sales increase of 4.5% to 1.04 billion euros (1.381 billion dollars). The United States remains the group's main market with sales at 574 million euros.
