At PoshFest, the online marketplace’s annual community conference held October 8-9, the company revealed its goal to “become the number one destination for sellers around the world.” To support its efforts to achieve this objective, the platform announced the creation of a dedicated seller experience team to be led by Sun, as well as the launch of its new My Shoppers and Closer Insights tools for sellers.

The My Shoppers tool is designed to serve as the online equivalent of an in-store retail associate, suggesting relevant products and giving personal styling tips based on what a shopper is browsing or liking. Backed by social commerce, the tool allows sellers to hone in on compelling leads, create a personalized customer experience and more effectively turn shoppers into buyers.

Closet Insights is a dynamic dashboard providing sellers with real-time inventory and sales data. This gives sellers a deeper understanding of their business performance over time, information that can be used to inform their strategy as they look to drive sales.

“Our sellers are the heart and soul of the Poshmark community and we are committed to helping them thrive at every step of their journey,” commented Sun in a release. “We want to enable everyone to participate in the digital economy by making it simple and easy to sell online and in doing so, upend the entire e-commerce experience as we know it.”

Before helping to launch Poshmark in 2011, Sun had already co-founded social e-commerce platform Est. Today in 2007. Prior to this she worked at Brooklyn Industries, serving as director of merchandising, then VP for merchandising from 2006 to 2007.

In her new role at Poshmark, she will be responsible for leading a team charged with supporting millions of the platform’s sellers across the U.S., Canada, Australia and India.

“Our seller community has transformed from a decade ago with many scaling well beyond casual selling to new levels of success, and we are committed to fueling their ambition and aspirations for growth,” explained Manish Chandra, founder and CEO of Poshmark. “Paramount to this is placing a trailblazer at the helm of the seller experience, ensuring best-in-class technology and robust support for our sellers. I can think of no one more poised for the task than our co-founder, Tracy Sun.”

Poshmark’s new seller-focused initiatives follow a string of features introduced by the marketplace to better serve its seller community over the past year. These include Bulk Listing Actions, Listing Videos, Style Tags, and Seller Discounted Shipping.
