Paul Smith opens new Ibiza pop-up boutique

Paul Smith has opened a new pop-up boutique Ibiza, as fashion’s only knight continues his global expansion.

The new pop-up is located in Ibiza’s iconic old town, beneath the UNESCO World Heritage-listed fortress. A fresh space that will retail Paul Smith and PS Paul Smith collections for men plus a new collaboration with Spanish footwear specialists, Castañer.

Designed to capture the optimistic spirit of summer, the pop-up is inspired by the famous pink box of Paul Smith Melrose Avenue in LA, and has similarly bold approach to color.  Behind a traditional Spanish architectural façade, there is a striking use of vibrant hues inspired by Sir Paul’s appreciation of paintings by the Chilean architecture studio Pezo von Ellrichshausen.

The British designer was one of the first to feature unique furniture and fittings in his early stores, and this new pop-up is no different.

Standout items include a 1950s American stool with hairpin legs and a large abstract artwork of oxide and wood polymer on canvas, titled Begin of Night, by the Austrian artist Georg Fuchsberger. In the fitting rooms, a pair of contemporary cog stools, designed by Paul Smith, feature acid-yellow fabric seats using material produced by long-term interiors collaborators, Kvadrat.
