Taking inspiration from Milanese architecture and infusing it with the timeless femininity that has been a brand signature since 1965, Oscar de La Renta has used the glamorous villas and gardens of Northern Italy as a backdrop for the lookbook and the accompanying short film, a teaser of which was recently published via its official Instagram account.

Set against the flow of classical music, several iterations from the new line are seen in the video -- including a series of printed cotton frocks, several sequined evening gowns and a jacquard coat with a matching belted dress.

Heritage and modernity are also successfully blended for this season via a strapless party dress number fully embroidered with crystals, as well as more practical ribbed-knit items, and some stand-out leather pieces, such as a short-sleeved jumpsuit, midi- and miniskirts, and a pair of high-waisted, cropped pants.

For evening, an A-line opera coat in a colorful floral jacquard with a black net overlay brings the polished drama of designer De la Renta himself to the fore. New 3D embroideries, which were developed in India, also feature extensively in the dresses, with each piece of fabric fused two to three times before being stitched onto the gowns.
