Michael Kors announced on Friday the launch of its spring/summer 2023 Michael Kors collection campaign, photographed in Monte Carlo by Dutch duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Shot in Monte Carlo, the new campaign features models Mica Argañaraz and Mona Tougaard dressed in the New York brand's luxe styles and photographed to enhance the collection’s theme: urban resort.

“Urban resort to me is the best of both worlds, it’s the luxury and sleek elegance of city life with the laid-back glamour you find in the best resorts,” said Michael Kors.

“This collection uses a lot of elements that you normally find on holiday—lots of white, lots of bareness, soft caftans, bare strippy sandals—mixed with the crisp tailoring and polish you need in an urban environment. Monte Carlo was the perfect destination to bring the mood of the collection to life.”

Balancing city rigor with the relaxed allure of resort life, the entire collection includes sarongs and caftans, as well as sharply tailored suits and Chesterfield coats. Colourwise, a palette of crisp white, graphic black, tropical lime and bold poppy is balanced by soft tones of pearl, silver, dune and gold.

"Movement and light are accentuated by romantic fringe, high-shine sequins and liquid fabrics, all juxtaposed with architectural silhouettes and sculptural jewelry. The result is a wardrobe that celebrates the body and works in every destination around the world," said the Capri Holdings-owned brand.

Capri Holdings on Wednesday cut its annual profit forecast and provided a dour outlook for 2024, blaming a slowdown in demand from department stores for its luxury handbags and apparel and sending its shares tumbling 24%.
