Mango has launched its first store in the Maldives. Located in Malé, the capital of the Maldives, the store spreads over 285 sq mts on one of the city’s busiest shopping streets.

The space offers the full womenswear collection in a retail environment that has been designed in line with Mango’s new interior design concept. This consists in creating “an open and dynamic space that significantly improves the customer shopping experience,” said the company in a statement. Materials such as marble, concrete, wood and natural stone were used to give the interior a touch of sophistication.

Mango has a presence in 27 countries in Asia, including India, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. The expansion follows recent news that Toni Ruiz has been promoted to CEO of the fashion brand, after serving as general manager for over two years. Isak Andic, brand founder, continues to be the president of the board of directors.

Founded in 1984, Barcelona-based Mango has become one of the leading fashion groups worldwide, with operations in more than 110 countries. In 2018, the brand posted sales of €2.23 billion, up 1.8% year-on-year, but losses totalled €35 million.
