Entitled the Summer Gala, the event’s second edition will feature performances by Dame Shirley Bassey and Ellie Goulding, among others, on the sunbaked Mediterranean island.

Besides the musical performances there will also be a live auction of art, luxury items, and impossible-to-get experiences conducted by Alexander Gilkes and a mega after-party staged on August 9.

Like last year, UNICEF Italy and LuisaViaRoma will stage their Summer Gala in the beautiful seaside resort of Porto Cervo in Sardinia. It will be jointly hosted by LuisaViaRoma’s hard-charging CEO Andrea Panconesi; UNICEF Italy Executive Director Paolo Rozera, and Fundraising Chairman Tommaso Chiabra.

“We must not forget, there is no future without children. Children are children, and we are here for them. Only by joining together and uniting our forces can we make a difference” said Andrea Panconesi, CEO of LuisaViaRoma, in a release.

Added Rozera: “We profoundly thank our partner LuisaViaRoma, without which this special event would not have been possible. I am sure that together we will save more and more children all over the world.”.

Among the event chairs: Alicia Silverstone, Caroline Scheufele, Christopher Walken, Claire Foy, Devon Windsor, Elsa Hosk, Georgia Fowler, Georgia Gibbs, Halima Aden, Jasmine Sanders, Jordan Barrett, Lily Aldridge, Martha Hunt, Noel Capri Berry, Robin Thicke and Zoe Saldana.

Last summer, the event raised two million euros for UNICEF, selling paintings, sculptures and yachting holidays in an auction; while Ricky Martin, Rita Ora and Sofia Carson performed. Diana Picasso, Emily Ratajkowski, Gina Lollobrigida, Heidi Klum, Nicole Scherzinger, Shanina Shaik and the Missonis, Angela and Margherita, all showed up. This year’s event is produced by Andy Boose and Stefan Santoni of ISG/International Society Group.

Funds raised during this event go towards supporting UNICEF’s work in providing care and protection to vulnerable children across the globe. Despite remarkable challenges around the world, UNICEF employees continue to fight for the rights of vulnerable kids daily, seeking to provide safe shelter, nutrition and protection from conflicts, natural disasters and inequality to those in need.
