Last November, the LVMH Group announced the creation of a major prize for young designers. At stake for the winner? A grant of 300,000 euros, as well as personalized assistance from a special LVMH team in developing their company for a year after receipt of the LVMH Prize.

Jury members who will choose the winner of the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize

To choose ten lucky finalists from among the thirty semi-finalists, forty international fashion insiders have been named. The finalists will present their collections to the final jury. Among the forty: Sarah Andelman, artistic director, Colette (Paris), Tim Blanks, editor at large, Style.com (London), Angelica Cheung, editor in chief, Vogue China (Beijing), Patrick Demarchelier, photographer (New York), Babeth Djian, editor in chief, Numéro (Paris), Lilian Pacce, fashion editor and writer (São Paulo), Sarah Mower, contributing editor, American Vogue (London), Tomoki Sukezane, stylist (Tokyo), Dasha Zukhova, editor in chief, Garage Magazine, and founder of Garage Museum of Contemporary Art (Moscow), and Natalie Massenet, founder and executive chairman of Net-a-Porter (London).

The members of this “panel of experts” will face the difficult task of voting for their ten favorite collections during a presentation organized at LVMH headquarters during Paris Fashion Week. Following the vote, the ten chosen finalists will face yet another jury in May 2014, when the Young Fashion Designer of the Year will be named.

The highly prestigious final jury is made up of the eight creative directors of the LVMH Fashion Houses: Nicolas Ghesquière (Louis Vuitton), Marc Jacobs (Marc Jacobs), Karl Lagerfeld (Fendi), Humberto Leon and Carol Lim (Kenzo), Phoebe Philo (Céline), Raf Simons (Dior), Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy). They will be joined by Delphine Arnault, Jean-Paul Claverie (advisor to Bernard Arnault and head of corporate philanthropy for LVMH) and Pierre-Yves Roussel (Chairman and CEO of the LVMH Fashion Group).

To be considered, candidates must submit their applications online at the LVMH Prize website by 2 February 2014.
