Knowledge Cotton Apparel offers far more than cotton

The name could be misleading. Knowledge Cotton Apparel does indeed use biological cotton for the majority of its products, but the Scandinavian brand is now offering clothing and accessories manufactured using a wide variety of materials.

The brand, established since its founding in Herning, Danish Jutland, bases its identity on its know-how, hence ‘Knowledge’. Its founders, the Morup family, have a textile industry heritage, as Jorgen Morup has been manufacturing apparel since 1969. Morup launched Knowledge Cotton Apparel with his children Mads and Soren, wishing to highlight the utilisation of biological or recycled materials and to explain their benefits. Hence the powerful slogan: "Gain Knowledge, Take Action. Earn Respect".

The brand also features jackets manufactured with polyester derived from recycled PET plastic bottles. For its sweaters, it uses wool coming from farms that guarantee the humane treatment of animals, while for its light items it resorts to biological linen. All of this putting the emphasis on the cleanest possible techniques for textile dyeing and manufacturing.

This approach is required to comply with the requirements of certifications such as OE100 or the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). This makes Knowledge Cotton Apparel a premium-priced brand, with formal jackets from €240, shirts for €95, trousers for €110, sweaters from €100, t-shirts from €30 and sleeved tops from €200.

The brand is available in France at some sixty retailers, represented by distributor The Clothette. Internationally it has approached the Italian market, as well as opting for a presence at US trade shows this season, to expand its North American presence.
