Technology’s such an essential part how retail works and to acknowledge that the John Lewis Partnership has made its latest related hire a first executive level appointment to “focus solely on transformation and technology”.

Zak Mian

Zak Mian joins the retailer on Monday (7 November) as Chief Transformation and Technology Officer with his appointment aimed at “further strengthening our transformation capability as we continue to deliver our five-year Partnership Plan”, the retailer said.

Mian has over 30 years’ transformation and technology experience and will lead the Partnership’s ‘Transformation, Technology and Change’ teams.

That experience includes leading business transformation and technology teams, most recently as the Group Transformation Director at Lloyds Banking Group where he led the digital transformation of the major UK bank.

Chair Sharon White said he “brings a wealth of experience and an impressive background in business transformation and has a strong sense of purpose, which make him a great fit for the Partnership.”

Mian added: “I’m really looking forward to helping shape an environment in which Partners can do their best work, enable the transformation of our business through technology and deliver great experiences for our customers.”
