The Scandinavian market will be managed from brands’s EMEA headquarters based in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Roope Karmavuo, who was most recently director of sales at Canada Goose International, has been recently tapped as commercial director for the EMEA region and Daniel Nilsson has recently joined Hunter as new sales manager for Scandinavia & Russia.

The move follows a strong year for the British heritage brand, with revenues jumping by 8.9% to £113.8 million in 2018. Last year also saw the company post its best-ever gross profit margin (54.2%) and adjusted Ebitda growth of 54%.

In Scandinavia, Hunter sells via its own channels and selected fashion stores such as NK, Åhlens and Footway.

Initially established as a brand of rubber boots, the firm has expanded its product categories to include a wide range of products, such as ready-to-wear, outerwear and accessories.

This strategy is proving to be highly successful, with the brand reporting strong sales growth of bag and apparel categories last year and a 50% increase in full-price sales.

Europe, North America and Asia are Hunter’s key markets and the brand will launch a limited-edition collaboration with British designer Stella McCartney later this year.
