He has led Anya Hindmarch’s financial activities for the past two years. Before that, he was finance director at British menswear brand Hackett London for over thirteen years, and his career has also included roles at luxury goods group Richemont.

Hunter has been strengthening its senior leadership team with a number of key appointments last year. The brand specialised in rain boots and other and waterproof products appointed Lizzie Samuels as merchandising director and Roope Karmavuo as commercial director for EMEA in 2018.

Additionally, Jim Calhoun, former president and CEO of Converse, has joined the Hunter board of directors.

Speaking about Reed’s appointment, Hunter chief executive Vincent Wauters, commented: “2018 represented an important milestone in the execution of our plans. We are showing continued growth across all regions, channels and key product categories, and I look forward to working with Mark as we oversee the long-term prosperity of the brand.”

Last year, the Edinburgh-based company enjoyed its highest daily sales results in its history during cyber week, reporting revenues of over £1 million on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday driven by online demand in the US.
