In November 2021, US group HanesBrands announced the sale of its European lingerie subsidiary, Hanes Europe Innerwear, to the Regent L.P. investment company, based in Los Angeles. After changing ownership, the new entity, comprising the brands Dim (founded in France in 1958), Nur Bie (from Germany), Lovable (from Italy), Bellinda (from the Czech Republic) and Abanderado (from Spain), has renamed itself Dim Brands International (DBI), to highlight its best asset.

DBI's CEO François Riston is keen to “pursue the development of Dim, a jewel in the French textile industry's crown, throughout Europe, building on the local leadership of our other brands Nur Die, Lovable, Bellinda and Abanderado.” To accelerate growth, DBI will also rely on product innovation, on its presence across all retail and e-tail formats, and on its CSR commitments.

DBI has some 3,300 employees in 10 countries, and indicated it will rely on “the talent and passion of its staff all around Europe, and on its robust industrial, logistics and administrative infrastructure.” In 2020, the group reportedly generated a revenue worth between $500 and $600 million, and in France it operates a production site in Autun.

In France, DBI will notably continue to commercialise underwear brand Playtex, which remains the property of HanesBrands.

Regent L.P., which became the new owner of DBI for the symbolic sum of €1, according to the AFP agency, is already active in the fashion and lingerie sectors, holding stakes in La Senza, Escada and Club Monaco.
