Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy, a protégé of Comme des Garçons, will be the honourable guest for male fashion. The young designer associates the brutal and tormented aesthetic from post-Soviet youth culture, elegant sportswear touches and artistic concepts from photography and film, genuine cultural passions and references of his style history. He succeeds Korean Juun. J, who was a guest of honour in January, and Moschino, who was the guest in June 2015.

Fausto Puglisi will be the guest of honour of the Pitti Italics Special Events. The designer, who splits his time between Sicily and New York, will present his first men’s capsule collection and women’s 2017 Resort collection in Florence. The young designer was discovered by Dolce & Gabbana in 2010 and regularly shows in Milan. He is also the Creative Director of Emanuel Ungaro.

Two other guests for this edition of Pitti include Japanese designer Hiroki Nakamura and his Visvim label, inspired by American workwear, as well as Lucio Vanotti, who was selected for the contest "Who is on Next?" in 2012, prior to being the guest of honour of Giorgio Armani runway shows.
