French department store group Galeries Lafayette has completed the management team for its next major project, the opening of a branch on the Champs- Elysées in Paris in 2019. The future flagship is planned as a concept-lifestyle store, and its creativity and purchasing will be headed by Clara Cornet.

Cornet started her career at Galeries Lafayette as womenswear buyer, and in 2013 she joined premium concept store Opening Ceremony as senior buyer, before becoming Buying Director at directional multibrand retailer The Webster.

In February 2018, Cornet joined the future store's five-person management team, comprising store director Nadia Dhouib and overseen by Olivier Bron, the group's Director of Operations. Cornet's mission will be to "create for the flagship store a unique, exclusive product range, visual identity and marketing content, in order to make it the international benchmark for a new generation of retailing," said the group.

The store is located at 52 avenue des Champs-Elysées, Paris, and occupies the 9,000 m2 premises formerly home to the Virgin Megastore. The Galeries Lafayette group is worth €3.8 billion in annual sales and is also redesigning its main store in Paris, on Boulevard Haussmann, where renovation work scheduled to last until 2020 has now began.
