On March 19, Dover Street Market, Rei Kawakubo's multi-brand retail concept, reopened in a new location in London.

Formerly located on Dover Street, DSM can now be found at 18-22 Haymarket, in a beautiful building that Thomas Burberry built in 1912 to be the headquarters for his Burberry brand. Now, the space houses a wide range of cutting-edge designer brands, from Palace and Craig Green to Dior, The Row and Simone Rocha.

The new Dover Street Market has five floors and feels spacious and open. At 31,384 sqft., it's three times the size of its former space but still manages to feel intimate and personal, with each brand deciding how to decorate their own space. This has led to fun fashion showcases, like J.W. Anderson's playground space.

The new store, like the former one, also has a café and a number of fun installations, including the Perfume Tower. To celebrate the opening, a selection of designers created exclusive pieces for the store, including Simone Rocha, who made a special "Gold Collection" and Molly Goddard, who made an exclusive dress for the store.

DSM first opened in London in 2004 and since then, Dover Street in Mayfair has been transformed into something of a fashion hotspot, with brands including Acne and Victoria Beckham opening stores there. It remains to be seen if the same will happen at Haymarket. There are also Dover Street Markets in Tokyo and New York.
