Derek Lam enters license agreement with Albisetti for beachwear

Derek Lam is expanding into beachwear. The New York City-based company entered into a new licensing agreement with Albisetti International SA for beachwear under the Derek Lam brand, starting with the spring 2018 season.

Lam founded his namesake fashion label in 2003 with Jan-Hendrik Schlottmann after working with Michael Kors as VP of Design. The Parsons School of Design graduate served as Creative Director of Tod’s for five years before launching Derek Lam 10 Crosby, and he also partnered with Kohl’s and Athleta in the past.
 
Switzerland-based Albisetti produces and distributes men’s and women’s fashion items, including ready-to-wear, outerwear, beachwear, underwear, activewear and accessories. The company has entered multi-year licensing agreements with companies such as Gucci, Dior, Fendi, Burberry, Valentino, Lanvin, Balmain, Hermes, Ralph Lauren, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Jean Paul Gaultier, Galliano, Karl Lagerfeld, and Chloè among others.

Derek Lam International currently operates a Derek Lam store in New York City on Madison Avenue and a 10 Derek Lam store on Mercer Street in SoHo in New York City.
