Canada Goose has opened a permanent store on the Republic of Ireland’s premier high-end shopping thoroughfare with a debut on Grafton Street.

The new location offers “an elevated shopping experience that showcases the brand’s collection of performance luxury apparel while highlighting its purpose to keep the planet cold and the people on it warm”.

The company sees Ireland as a strong market for the brand given its “wild coastlines, rugged hiking trails, rolling green plains and unsettled weather conditions”.

The two-storey space “is designed to reflect the values and essence of the Canadian brand and create an inspiring hub for its Basecamp community to connect in a meaningful way”. The company said it draws on “high-quality materials inspired by nature and displays artwork from the Canada Goose Northern Art Collection”.

With over 500 artworks on display in more than 50 stores, it’s the largest retail collection of Inuit art in the world. In Dublin, it includes a custom lightbox installation by Alex Fischer that additionally acts as a selfie backdrop; and silk-screened tapestries that are made especially for the store and combine traditional methods and technologies with a contemporary material focus.
