The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced on Monday 10 new designers to its membership roster, bringing the total CFDA membership to 458.

As part of its 2023 admissions process, the new designer additions selected are Brandon Blackwood of Brandon Blackwood; Colm Dillane of KidSuper; Tremaine Emory of Denim Tears; Danielle Hirsch of Danielle Frankel; Greg Lauren of Greg Lauren; Raul Lopez of Luar; Jamie Okuma, of J.Okuma; Daniel Roseberry of Maison Schiaparelli; Rio Uribe of Gypsy Sport; and Elena Velez of Elena Velez.

“It’s so important for the world to see talent at the highest levels coming from America. Our newest members represent everything America has to offer… diversity… creativity… and true individual talent,” said Thom Browne, CFDA chairman.

In October, the CFDA named Thom Browne as its next chairman, succeeding Tom Ford, who completed a three-year term at the end of May. Browne has been a member of the CFDA since 2005.

“These ten designers were purposely selected and invited by the board of directors, which is a great honor. The CFDA looks forward to their active participation within the organization and working together to help champion and elevate American fashion and drive positive change,” added Lisa Smilor, CFDA executive vice president.

Last year, the CFDA launched a new interim membership tier, created to serve as a pipeline to full CFDA membership and specifically to support designers who have been in business for one to five years, and who have achieved a noteworthy level of recognition and success.
