The three-level apparel, beauty and accessories store spans over 93,000 square feet inside Kuwait City's 360 Mall, the luxury precinct which opened in 2009. With a soft opening March 9, the official store inauguration will take place March 15.

The Kuwait City store is second international location for the US department store giant, following the success of Bloomingdale’s Dubai, which launched in 2010. Another Bloomindale's is slated to open in Al Maryah Central, Abu Dhabi in 2018.

The new locations intend to showcase the "international potential" of the brand, said to Terry J. Lundgren, chairman and chief executive officer of Macy’s, Inc., the parent firm of Bloomingdale's.

“Bloomingdale’s in Kuwait is another step forward in our strategy for capitalizing on the international potential of Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s, both of which are well-known retail brands around the world,” said Lundgren, in a press release.

“We are continuing to learn how best to translate these outstanding brands for our international customers, and we expect the new store in Kuwait to build on the Bloomingdale’s experience and success in Dubai.”

The retail arm of the Al Tayer Group, Al Tayer Insignia operates fashion and retail brands in the Middle East including Whistles, Harvey Nichols, Gap, Banana Republic and Crate & Barrel. It also has joint ventures with luxury brands Bottega Veneta, Bulgari, Ermenegildo Zegna, Gucci, Prada and Saint Laurent
