It is a lengthy wait for the employees of fashion retailer BCBG Max Azria's French subsidiary, which filed for receivership last March. At the hearing of 27th September, the court in Romans-sur-Isère, France, has in fact decided to postpone its verdict once again.

Several acquisition bids have been put forward, and the court has given itself time to ponder a decision, before announcing it on 11th October. One of the bids was made by some of the subsidiary's directors, who wish to launch a new brand and save 96 jobs.

The deadline extension is a worry for the staff at BCBG Max Azria, which still operates nearly 25 stores in France. "The employees are worn out by the slowness of this process," said Stéphanie Vénitien, a member of the company's employee committee, who also lamented "the absurdity of the proposals made by the judicial agent" relating to the employee support measures put forward until now. The company is based in Mercurol, France, and its liquidation is now a possibility.
