One of the legends of American jeans manufacturing looks to showcase Japan’s expertise with denim by presenting a limited-edition Made in Japan collection for Fall 2014. The line consists of traditional 501 and slim straight 513 jeans, plus a Barstow Western shirt.

To produce this line, Levi’s took advantage of Japanese denim specialists, who used local expertise with indigo to create intense coloring in the fabric itself as well as in Japanese-inspired detailing and reinforced repair patches.

Levi’s Japan had already produced these items in Japan, but this is the first time the label has released the collection into international distribution

To top things off, the label teamed up with artist Yogu, the Okinawa-based tie-dye artist, to create a collection of hand-printed t-shirts.

The collection will be available in the company’s stores starting in July 2014.
