The new capsule collection features white t-shirts with graphic phrases like “Never underestimate the power of a girl who knows what she wants” and “Well-behaved women rarely make history. Alice + Olivia founder Stacey Bendt shared the line on the brand’s Instagram page, where she says 50 percent of the proceeds from the collection will go to the non-profit Global Fund for Women. The shirts retail for $125 on Alice + Olivia’s online shop.

Bendt’s t-shirts are one of many recent projects from brands, both luxury and mainstream, to support philanthropic causes. To celebrate Pride 2017, many designers and brands have recently released collections to benefit LBGTQ causes, including American Eagle, Urban Outfitters and Converse, to name just a few. Maria Grazia Chiuri also made waves when she sent models down the runway wearing “We should all be feminists” t-shirts at her first collection for Christian Dior. And Italian designer Angela Missoni brought the political fight to Milan fashion week this February by ending her autumn-winter 2017 show with models clad in Pussyhats, the pink protest symbols of women's rights.

Some of the Global Fund for Women’s major initiatives include projects to advance women’s sexual health rights, increase access to technology and build female leadership around the world. The non-profit also invites fans of the initiative to suggest new phrases for the t-shirt collection by sharing their favorite quotes on Instagram with the hashtag #aocommuniT.
