Adolfo Dominguez has announced plans to launch in June its second store in Doha, Qatar, and a further four stores in the Middle East by 2018.

International expansion is key for the business, said Adolfo Dominguez - Paseo San Pedro

The new stores are set to open next year in Saudi Arabia, Doha, Qatar and Teheran, the capital of Iran.
The Spanish designer brand said in a statement that the new Doha store will be located in the country’s most popular shopping mall, Doha Festival City.

International expansion is key for the business and has helped drive revenues up 51% in the second half of last year, it said.

Adolfo Dominguez’s physical presence in the Middle East includes locations in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Iran and Qatar.

The company sees positive growth prospects in the region, and based on insights gained after the expansion, it has decided to launch an Arabic Collection exclusively for consumers in the Middle East.

The expansion process has resulted in 45% of the label’s stores now located outside Spain.

But Adolfo Dominguez has not forgotten its country of origin: it recently launched a new store at Palma de Mallorca Airport. The new boutique adds to 14 further travel retail stores worldwide.

According to the company, its performance in the travel retail channel reflects the success of the new management team’s strategy, with airport sales growing each month until reaching a 17% rise in February.

In addition to Spain, Adolfo Dominguez has six travel retail stores in Mexico’s four leading airports, and one at Lisbon Airport in Portugal.

The fashion brand fell back in the red in 2016 after ending its financial year in February with losses of €23 million, compared with profits of €7.7 million in the previous year.

Sales at the clothing company, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of its IPO,grew by 4.3% to €110.2 million in the period, compared with €105.7 million in 2015.
