Florentine fashion house Salvatore Ferragamo presents "42 Degrees," a sustainable capsule collection created by two of its young designers, Flavia Corridori and Luciano Dimotta. Embodied by a multicolored ribbon that recalls the colors of the rainbow, the collection is available in selected stores and online at www.ferragamo.com.

This sustainable capsule collection is the result of an internal contest held by Salvatore Ferragamo. The label asked its young designers to create a series of accessories "using materials that are sustainable and in keeping with the iconic style of the brand." entirely made in Italy and

Flavia Corridori and Luciano Dimotta fulfilled this brief with flying colors, convincing a panel of experts, journalists and influences with their collection inspired by Rainbow, a multi-colored sandal released in 1938.

The result is a collection of pieces adorned with a multi-colored ribbon made from dyed fabric. Each item was designed using a system that reduces water consumption, use of fossil fuels, and chemical products. The collection not only showcases the creativity of Ferragamo's young designers, but also sustainability and respect for the environment.

Examples of this can be seen in the materials used for the various accessories -- a pair of men's sneakers, a pair of women's sneakers, a rucksack and a shopping bag -- leathers created using a wet white tanning process without metals, natural rubber, organic fibers, and fabrics made from recycled plastic bottles. All the items are made in Italy.

The collection is available in selected stores and online at www.ferragamo.com, with pieces starting at $595.
