Launching on 10 November, the collection includes delicately woven scarves, silk pocket squares, canvas tote bags and graphic T-shirts featuring artwork from the Automatic for the People album, song lyrics and promotional photos of the band.

“I’ve known and been a fan of R.E.M. for a long time,” said Paul. “I’ve always particularly enjoyed Michael’s haunting vocals. The band is a very imaginative and artistic group of people, which makes them such exciting creative collaborators.”

“We’re thrilled to work with Paul Smith, Anton Corbijn’s photos, and my lyrics from Automatic for the People to create something very 2017,“ added R.E.M.'s lead singer Michael Stipe.

The limited-edition range will be available to purchase from Paul Smith stores in London, New York and Paris, as well as online.
