The Italian group led by Marco Boglione, which owns several sportswear and casualwear brands, including Kappa, K-Way and Superga, is reorganising itself. Gianni Crespi is expected to take charge of the company as new chairman of the board and CEO. He will succeed Franco Spalla.

The news was published by Italian daily Corriere della Sera and wasn't denied by BasicNet, which however is yet to formalise the appointment. According to the Milan newspaper, the objective is to "restructure the group by rejuvenating its top management, appointing to the top post a man like Crespi, 56."

Gianni Crespi has directed several groups including publisher Istituto Geografico De Agostini. He also worked for the Rusconi publishing group and was Vice-President and CEO of Walt Disney Italy. He's a member of BasicNet's board since 2007.
