Supermodel Adwoa Aboah has been unveiled as the face of Edward Enninful's first edition of British Vogue.

The magazine's highly-anticipated December issue features the British model and activist on its retro-styled cover, sporting a striking beauty look comprising iridescent blue sparkly eyeshadow and a bold red lacquered lip. A silk headwrap and statement earrings complete the look.

The cover image, which was shot by American fashion photographer Steven Meisel, is indicative of Enninful's strategy to diversify the British fashion bible. Since taking the reins at the publication in August, replacing long-standing editor Alexandra Shulman, he has shaken up the editorial team to include a range of major industry players, including Naomi Campbell, Grace Coddington and Pat McGrath.

Meanwhile Aboah is becoming one of the most in-demand models of the moment, having been unveiled earlier this month as the newest face of Marc Jacobs Beauty. The fashion star has seen her modeling career skyrocket this year, fronting major campaigns for Dior, Miu Miu, H&M, Gap and many others, as well as strutting down the runway for most of the industry's biggest luxury houses and landing a role in L'Oréal's headline-grabbing Spring/Summer 2018 show at Paris Fashion Week in October. She has also been busy with 'Gurls Talk,' the online platform she founded that offers young women a space to discuss topics such as female identity, mental illness, addiction, sexuality and racial diversity.
