Crocs: replacing salespeople with drones in Tokyo?

Published

The colourful footwear brand is trying out a new, original concept in Tokyo: a store where customers tap on a pair of shoes on an iPad, and a green Crocs-branded drone fetches the item from an aerial display.

While giants like Amazon and Google are continuing to test out drones for deliveries, the operation in Tokyo has captured the attention of the local media.

However, so far the operation hasn't proved to be entirely successful for Crocs, with a lot of curious customers immortalising some of the Drones' failures, such as dropping the shoes in mid-flight or not being able to latch onto them, or simply just crashing. But at least it has garnered the public's attention, creating publicity, not to mention just a really fun concept.
